Software House CSP: ‘integrated process data management would have technical problems detected before defective products in the trade get’ Grosskollnbach, 02.02.2010. Product recalls, as it the car manufacturers have announced Toyota, Peugeot and Citroen for thousands of their vehicles because of technical problems with the gas pedal, can be avoided already in production. This is confirmed by Alexander Cocev, product manager for integrated process data management in the Software House CSP GmbH & co. KG in Grosskollnbach: defects and malfunctions in the automotive industry have already during the production process, reduce or even completely excluded. This also applies to other industries.

Technical problems such as the malfunction of a gas pedal could be noticed at an early stage from the supplier, producing as well as for installation in the vehicle. Modern software solutions that collect process data in the production process and monitor, see fully automated, when certain readings exceeded to, for example, the fitting of individual components. Appropriate threshold values can be defined for each process step. By email or SMS notification, the responsible persons in the production are immediately informed if an irregularity occurs. Actually, it is incomprehensible why it must be still product recalls in such grand style. Product recalls hurt the company’s image and often mean a great effort for the consumer. In the worst case, the gas pedal is stuck and it comes to an accident with possibly deadly consequences.

Such scenarios through integrated process data management, for example with the solution of IPM of CSP, are completely preventable.\” IPM stands for integrated process data management and supports the automated collection and monitoring of data in the production process. The companies are aware of deviations in the process at all times and can help ensure that faulty components, products and component batches not only in the sale. Error in the production can be narrowed down in the long term through systematic and continuous evaluation of the measured data, and it can be fixed.
